County Government of Nairobi Collaborates with Partners to Advance Urban Development Projects in Informal Settlements

Nairobi: 26th April, 2024

Nairobi County today engaged with partners under the Kounkuey Design Initiative (KDI) and the Urban Fabric Initiatives to unlock a framework of engagement towards implementation of 5 proposed projects in 3 wards as complementary interventions to the ongoing World Bank funded KISIP project.

Led by the Directorate for Donor Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement, the County Government delegation consisted of the Health Sector, Green Nairobi, Mobility & Works, Sub-County Administration and the Office of the County Attorney.

The six projects are funded through the French Development Agency and locally implemented through a consortium consisting of KDI, AMT and SDI Kenya.
The targeted projects are based in the informal settlements within the wards of Kahawa, Lower Savannah, Uhuru and Kariobangi.

Director Kefa reaffirmed the commitment of the County Government to work with partners in accelerating the realization of Sustainable development goals in line with the County's Vision of Order, Dignity, Hope and Opportunity. He assured the partners of the Government's readiness in offering the necessary facilitation towards efficient implementation of the proposed projects. The meeting was attended with community representatives from the proposed projects areas.
