Welcome to the LBPD Blotter!

As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department's homepage and on the "News" tab of the Department's website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.

Here's a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Hit Shooting - 1800 block of Locust Avenue - On 2/6/2023, at approximately 9:28 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of Locust Avenue regarding a report a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim suffering gunshot wounds to the lower body. The victim refused to cooperate with the investigation. The Long Beach Fire Department transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. As officers were on scene, one male and one female adult subject interfered with the investigation and were subsequently arrested for obstruction-related charges. At this time, no suspect information is available and detectives believe the motive to be gang-related, however, the investigation is ongoing.

  • Hit Shooting - 2100 Pasadena Avenue-On 2/6/2023, at approximately 11:28 p.m., officers responded to the 2100 block of Pasadena Avenue regarding a shots call. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim suffering gunshot wounds to the lower body and immediately began rendering aid to the victim. The victim stated he was in the area and involved in a verbal dispute with a male adult suspect that escalated to the shooting. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers arrival. The Long Beach Fire Department transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers located evidence, including casings, indicating a shooting had occurred. The investigation is ongoing.
  • Non-Fatal Stabbing - 226 Street and Coyote Creek - On 2/7/2023, at approximately 4:00 a.m., patrol officers working near the area of Norwalk Boulevard and Wardlow Road were flagged down by a citizen regarding a stabbing. Officers contacted a male adult victim suffering from stab wounds to the upper body. The victim stated he was walking near 226th Street and Coyote Creek when an unknown male suspect assaulted him; the victim fled and later discovered that he had been stabbed. The Long Beach Fire Department transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. At this time, no suspect information is available and the motive for the stabbing is unknown. The investigation is ongoing
