President of Ukraine met with the Speaker of the Parliament of Finland in Helsinki

As part of his official visit to Finland, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the Speaker of the Parliament and Leader of the National Coalition Party Petteri Orpo.

The Head of State thanked for supporting Ukraine in these difficult times of fighting against Russian aggression.

"I thank the Finnish people for such a great, powerful support during all the months of this full-scale war. For supporting our people and, of course, our military on the battlefield. After all, our main task today is to de-occupy all our territories," he said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Petteri Orpo and his party on winning the recent parliamentary elections.

The Head of State expressed confidence that cooperation with the new government of Finland would be actively developed after the completion of the process of its formation.

During the meeting, the President thanked all political forces of Finland for comprehensive political support and large-scale practical assistance to our country in countering Russian aggression.

He also emphasized the importance of the asylum granted to more than 50,000 Ukrainians who found protection from the war on Finnish soil.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited Petteri Orpo to visit Ukraine at his convenience.
