San Marcos Creek Project | March 1

Paseo del Arroyo Park and Creek trail update

Work on the Paseo del Arroyo Park and Creek trail has resumed. Construction crews will be working on installing different trail signage and putting in park furnishings over the next couple of weeks, pending any weather delays.

Work continues on traffic signal loops

Construction crews are continuing to work on installing permanent traffic signal technology at all stoplights in the Creek area over the next couple of weeks. Once completed, the traffic signals will no longer be on flashing red mode and the City will be able to closely monitor the flow of traffic. Please be cautious while driving through the Creek area during this time.

We encourage you to reach out to the Creek project team if you have any questions by phone at 877-SMCREEK or 877-762-7335 or by email at [email protected].

The San Marcos Creek Project is a 214-acre project adjacent to the San Marcos Creek, generally bounded by:

  • West San Marcos Boulevard to the north
  • Grand Avenue to the east
  • Via Vera Cruz to the west
  • Discovery Avenue to the south

The Creek Project will add the needed infrastructure to reduce long-standing flooding issues and improve traffic circulation while revitalizing and preserving the San Marcos Creek. The project will minimize flooding risks, preserve and enhance the creek habitat, and build a new park and trails. Learn more about the project on our website, www.san-marcos.net/creek.
