New trash and recycling carts switchover

New trash and recycling carts are coming!

All residential trash and recycling customers will get new carts on one of their collection days from May 28 to July 19.

Here's what to expect:

• A 95-gallon dark gray trash and a 95-gallon navy blue recycling cart will be delivered to your pick-up location on one of your collection days from May 28 to July 19. Each household will receive the number of carts they currently pay for monthly.
• On the day your new carts arrive, the old carts will be removed after your trash and recycling have been picked up.
• If your old carts are not picked up on that day, continue to put them out until they are removed. Waste Connections will be running weekly recovery efforts until all carts are removed.
• New dark gray trash and navy blue recycling carts are the new collection containers.

5. What are the differences between the new carts and the old carts?

The new carts are 95 gallons each and have a City of McKinney logo. The trash cart is dark gray, and the recycling cart is navy blue.
