LATROBE, PA - The Verostko Center for the Arts is proud to present the work of ten graduating Saint Vincent College seniors in "Evolved: 2024 Senior Showcase," with an opening reception on Wed., April 17, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

A collaboration between the College's Visual Arts and Media Design Department and the Verostko Center, the exhibition features the work of Donovan Baxter (digital art & media - graphic design; Pitcairn), Lilly Chabala (digital art & media - video/animation; Carnegie), Caitlin Cole (digital art & media - video/animation; Pittsburgh), Alex Colecchia (digital art & media; Greensburg), Cameron Dimeo (digital art & media - video/animation; Ellwood City), Jakob Gmuer (digital art & media - graphic design; Latrobe), Jacklyn Koehler (communication; Rockledge, Florida), Monique Koehler (communication; Rockledge, Florida), Kieran Rapp (digital art & media - video/animation; Pittsburgh), and Lauren Turkovich (digital art & media - graphic design; Jeannette).

Students enrolled in the capstone course "The Digital Media Professional" were charged with completing a biographical project in the form of a video or magazine reflective of their personal identity and intentions as emerging creative professionals. Additionally, students dually enrolled in "Senior Exhibition and Professional Seminar" created bodies of work investigating a central theme of their choosing. Projects featured in the 2024 Showcase demonstrate the technical and conceptual capacity of students' interest in digital content creation as well as traditional studio art practices.

"Collectively taken, this cohort of seniors produced projects that encapsulate their transformation as emerging creatives," explained Andrew Julo, director and curator for The Verostko Center for the Arts. "The videos, photographs, screenprints, stained-glass and designed print collateral that comprise this year's exhibit are evidence of students' ability to use both digital and analog tools in the service of narrating ideas of deep personal significance."

The event is free and reservations are not required. All are welcome.

The 2024 Senior Showcase runs through May 8, 2024. During the Spring 2024 semester, the Verostko Center is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. To make an appointment outside the Center's normal hours, visitors are encouraged to email [email protected]. The Center is located on the second floor of the Dale P. Latimer Library on the campus of Saint Vincent College.
