Within the framework of the "Save Nature - Georgia" project, the parties discuss the Endangered Species Recovery Plan

Within the framework of the "Save Nature - Georgia" project, the representatives and experts from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, relevant agencies included in the system of the Ministry, and international and non-governmental organizations met to discuss the issues of the endangered species restoration plan.

The endangered species recovery plan will be a guiding document for planning and implementing recovery measures, which includes the selection of relevant species of fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals, and higher plants in compliance with the principles of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

The participants expressed their opinions and gave recommendations regarding the methodology and criteria for selecting and prioritizing species to prepare the species recovery plan.

The project "Save Nature - Georgia" has been implemented by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture with the financial support of the International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) of the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden since 2021.

The project aims to improve the sustainable management of natural resources in Georgia, promote the protection and restoration of biodiversity, improve air quality, and strengthen the Ministry's and its agencies' institutional capacity.
