On April 15, 2024, State Police responded to assist a New York State Forest Ranger on the Taconic Trail in Petersburgh, NY.

On April 15, 2024, at approximately 11:34 a.m., State Police of Brunswick responded to a wooded area known as the Taconic Trail in Petersburgh, NY, to assist a New York State Forest Ranger who located human remains. The individual has been positively identified as Fae Morgana Barbone, 40, from Hanson, MA. Fae had been reported missing to the Abington Police Department on March 9, 2024, when their family was unable to make contact with them.

New York State Police is working closely with the Abington Police Department (MA) on this investigation. Fae's cause of death is pending autopsy results and does not appear suspicious.
