The State Police of SP Fonda and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, alongside the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit (CCU) and the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce (ICAC), conducted a highly successful multiple-day investigation in the Town of Florida, NY, during which six individuals were arrested for various crimes against children.

State Police arrested:

Scott T. Simmons, 56, of Johnstown, NY, was arrested at his residence in Johnstown for Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child and Promotion of a Sexual Performance by a Child. Simmons was arraigned at the Johnstown City Court and was remanded to the Fulton County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1000 cash, a $30,000 bond, or a $80,000 partially secured bond.

Zachary Nawotniak, 22, of Queensbury, NY, was arrested and charged with Patronizing a Prostitute in the Second Degree, Attempted Rape in the Second Degree, and Attempted Criminal Sex Act in the Second Degree. Nawotniak was transported to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.

Samuel P. Schultz, 56, of Amsterdam, NY, a level III Sex Offender, was arrested and charged with Attempted Rape in the Second Degree, Patronizing a Prostitute in the Second Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, and Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree. Schultz was transported to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.

Tasean Booth, 32, of Schenectady, NY, a three-time convicted felon with multiple other arrests, was arrested and charged with Patronizing a Prostitute in the Second Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Additional charges against Booth are anticipated. Booth was arraigned in the Florida Town Court and was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bail.

Denis Omuriuki, 35, of Cohoes, NY, was arrested and charged with Attempted Rape in the Second Degree, Attempted Criminal Sex Act in the Second Degree, and Patronizing a Person for Prostitution in the Second Degree. Omuriuki was issued an appearance ticket to appear on a later date in the Amsterdam Town Court and released.

Erick J. DeJesus-Rosa, 30, of Amsterdam, NY, was arrested and charged with Patronizing a Prostitute in the Second Degree and Attempted Criminal Sex Act in the Second Degree. DeJesus-Rosa was issued an appearance ticket to appear on a later date in the Amsterdam Town Court and released.
