NE 36th Street Stormwater Improvements Project

Construction Update: Friday, April 12

Please note that the start date has been rescheduled to Monday, April 22 due to delays in securing materials.

The City of Fort Lauderdale and Southern Underground Industries are making improvements to the stormwater system on NE 36th Street between NE 32nd Avenue and NE 34th Avenue. The work includes:

  • Installing one new catch basin
  • Installing a new 15 -inch stormwater pipe to replace an existing obsolete pipe
  • Reconstructing the roadway and/or parking spaces, including paving and site restoration as needed

Construction will begin on Monday, April 15, 2024, and is expected to be completed by mid-May 2024. Work will take place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic Impacts

  • NE 36th Street will be open to local traffic only within the work area between NE 32nd Avenue and NE 34th Avenue daily during work hours.
  • Traffic control personnel will direct traffic as needed.
  • Crews will attempt to coordinate with neighbors prior to the start of operations that may affect parking access.
  • Access to parking spaces will be maintained as needed during the day.
  • Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.
