Suspect identified in Argyle Avenue assault

(Ottawa) - The Ottawa Police Service Central Criminal Investigations Unit is advising that the suspect has been identified as a young person.

We ask members of the media and the public to remove the youth's photo from their social media and online postings, as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The investigation is ongoing.

Suspect to identify in Argyle Avenue assault

(Ottawa) - The Ottawa Police Service Central Criminal Investigations Unit is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an assault that occurred on February 27th in the 100 block of Argyle Avenue.

The suspect planned on attending the seller's address to purchase an item that was listed online for sale, however the seller changed their mind and cancelled the sale.

The suspect then contacted the seller online under another name, asking to purchase a different item. At approximately 11:00 am, the suspect attended the seller's residence, and they met outside to complete the sale.

Once outside, the suspect argued with the seller (victim) because she cancelled the previous transaction and assaulted her.

The victim sustained minor physical injuries.

The suspect is described as a light skinned male, approximately 18-24 years old, 5'10" (178 cm), slim build, and dark hair. He was last seen wearing a grey jacket with a hood, dark pants and shoes, and a black backpack.
