Edition 1 - The WTO Moratorium on Customs Duties on Electronic Transmissions: What is really at stake?

The first edition of the series looks at what is at stake if the WTO Moratorium on Customs Duties on Electronic Transmissions were allowed to lapse. This agreement - first established in 1998 - has played an important role in the development of trade by keeping digitally delivered products, services and content free of tariffs.

The collateral costs of allowing the Moratorium to lapse would be considerable and compelling, as free digital transmissions contribute to business productivity, innovation, national competitiveness, and, ultimately, jobs.
