BEIRUT, Aug.10 -- Recently, French Colonel Peyrecave, J3 Chief of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), inspected the 22nd Chinese Peacekeeping Troops to UNIFIL and expressed his appreciation for China's outstanding contribution to UNIFIL.
Upon arriving at the camp, Peyrecave and his delegation were shown over ten types of explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) equipment by the Chinese peacekeepers, including EOD robots and EOD suits. EOD operators conducted a simulated mine-clearing demonstration and showcased the operation of the EOD robot, which involved gripping and transferring "unexploded ordnance." Afterward, Peyrecave was briefed on the work and mission accomplishments of the Chinese Peacekeeping Troops to Lebanon. He also exchanged views with the Chinese side on the current situation in the mission area.
He spoke highly of the professionalism and dedication demonstrated by the Chinese peacekeepers in their work and expressed the hope that the 22nd Chinese Peacekeeping Troops to UNIFIL would continue to perform their duties with great expertise and standard procedures and accomplish their peacekeeping mission.
