Man Arrested for Assaulting a Toronto Police Parking Enforcement Officer, Bloor Street West and Clendenan Avenue area

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in an Assault investigation.

On Friday, April 5, 2024, at approximately 2 p.m., police responded to an assault call in the Bloor Street West and Clendenan Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

• a Parking Enforcement Officer (PEO) was conducting enforcement in the area
• the PEO was in the process of issuing a violation notice
• the accused presented himself and body checked the officer in the chest
• the accused then entered his vehicle and drove away

Dang Dao, 47, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with:

1. Assault a Peace Officer

He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, Monday, May 13, 2024, at 11 a.m., in room 203.
