This Saturday!!! Murals on the Move: Solar Eclipse
At Samuell Farm from Saturday, April 6th to Monday, April 8th the City of Dallas will host a weekend-long celebration of the total solar eclipse. This event will also serve as the official unveiling of the latest Murals on the Move project.

Applications for the Community Artist Program Open on April 29, 2024
The Community Artist Program (CAP) provides funding to ethnic and culturally specific individual artists and cultural organizations to teach, perform, and exhibit at host facilities in neighborhoods around the City of Dallas. The application will open April 29, 2024 and information sessions are forthcoming.

Sustainable Art Residencies Coming to a Recreation Center Near You - Spring 2024
The Community Arts Sustainable Art Residency Program will offer art workshops with a focus on environmental sustainability. The teaching artists will provide these opportunities in recreation centers across the City of Dallas this spring. The residency program connects artists with residents in the service of producing environmentally sustainable art experiences in alignment with the Comprehensive Environmental and Climate Action Plan (CECAP) approved in 2020. This plan is a comprehensive roadmap that outlines the activities that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, to prepare for the impacts of climate change, and to create a healthier and more prosperous Dallas community.
Workshops will be offered at the following recreation centers:

1st Annual AAPI Heritage & Dragon Boat Festival
Mark your calendars! Sunday, May 19th, 2024 the City of Dallas will present its inaugural AAPI Heritage & Dragon Boat Festival. From 10am to 4pm, enjoy live performances, artist workshops, food, dragon boat races, Japanese tea ceremony, a film screening, art exhibition, and more.
