Honors From the American Society of Magazine Editors

T: The New York Times Style Magazine won the National Magazine Award for General Excellence, Service and Lifestyle, one of the most prestigious honors given by the American Society of Magazine Editors each year. T has been nominated for this award for the past four consecutive years; this is its third win.

'T is honored to receive its third National Magazine Award for General Excellence - it's always particularly meaningful to be recognized by your peers and to be in such good company,' said Hanya Yanagihara, the editor in chief of T magazine. 'We're grateful to The New York Times for their constant support, and to our writers, photographers, stylists, artists and contributors, who make this magazine what it is.'

T also had a finalist in the Video category for 'Long Island's Enduring Black Beachfront Community,' directed by Joshua Kissi.

The New York Times Magazine also had six finalists this year. They included:

Mamadi Doumbouya, a photographer who works with the Magazine, was named a recipient of an ASME Next award, given to journalists under 30. Jake Silverstein, the editor of the magazine, nominated him for his work with the Magazine, where he is the dedicated photographer of the weekly Talk column.

And Matthew Sedacca Levine, a senior news assistant, won in the Leisure Interests category for his 'Biography of a Building' series in New York magazine exploring the histories and residential communities of buildings around New York City.
