USJE joined the global initiative 'Earth Hour 2023'

For more than a decade, Cementarnica USJE has been part of the global initiative "Earth Hour". On March 25, 2023, from 20:30 to 21:30, USJE disconnected the cement mills from electricity supply, saving 3 MWh of electricity. In this way, USJE directly contributed to the reduction of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, which are the main cause of global warming and climate change. By the way, by turning off the cement mills, the company saved electrical energy, which on average satisfies the consumption of about 1,000 homes or about 20,000 street lights.

In this year's initiative "Earth Hour" which takes place under the motto "Shut down - give an hour to the planet", in addition to turning off the cement mill, which is one of the largest consumers of electricity in USJE, the company also turned off other plants. At the same time, USJE invited the employees and contractors to join "Earth Hour" in their homes and together with their families to give more support to this significant global initiative.
