(BOWIE, Md.) - Brandon Williams graduates with an MBA from the College of Business this Friday after working with Apple the past two years introducing the company's products to students and faculty members at Bowie State and working to help them learn how to use some of company's new apps and other services to enhance their learning experience.

In 2022, the same year Williams began working on his MBA, he was named an Apple Campus Leader and began distributing iPads across BSU's campus for students to use in their classes and to complete assignments. He organized Apple TV + screenings and hosted workshops on how to create presentations with Apple's keynotes, take notes with iPad pencil and create movies using iMovie.

Williams became an Apple Senior Campus Leader in the fall of 2023 and was responsible for managing six students who were Apple Campus Leaders at Florida A & M University, Ohio State University, the University of the District of Columbia, the University of Michigan and other institutions of higher learning. "Apple helped shape my leadership skills and opened my eyes to the vast number of opportunities that are available to me," said Williams. "I received ongoing coaching, guidance and unyielding support from everyone in the organization."

Balancing working for Apple with pursuing an MBA was challenging at times according to Williams, but he says the support and recommendations he received from his advisor, professor Kavita Kapur, made a world of difference.

"Dr. Kapur worked very closely with me and encouraged my attendance at the International Finance Corporation's convention which enabled me to meet the organization's senior executives and network," said Williams. "The entrepreneurship courses offered by the College of Business and the various business seminars were eye opening and helped me to understand the necessity of planning to effectively manage any business regardless of it being a large or small enterprise."

A graduate of Bishop McNamara High School in Forestville, Maryland, Williams attended Delaware State for two years before transferring to Bowie State in 2018 earning a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism in 2020. He worked as an intern in the Office of Annual Giving during that timeframe helping to drive fundraising campaigns.

An entrepreneur in spirit and deed, Williams started a LED company in 2021 specializing in protective masks, as he put it, to keep people alive during the height of the COVID pandemic. But what really motivates him is music.

"I started making music last September and I'm published on Spotify, Pandora and other platforms," he said. "The purpose of my music is to spread love, peace and encouragement to everyone who listens to my compositions."
