Statement by the High Representative on behalf of the European Union on the alignment of certain third countries concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Democratic Republic of the Congo

On 8 December 2022, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2022/24121 amending Decision 2010/788/CFSP.

The Council renewed the existing restrictive measures for a further twelve months, until 12 December 2023.

The candidate countries North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Republic of Moldova and Bosnia and Herzegovina2, as well as the EFTA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, members of the European Economic Area, align themselves with this Council Decision.

They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.
The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it.
