SEB cares Mobile App Enhanced with ‘Online Application’ Feature

KUCHING

4 APRIL 2024

Sarawak Energy's 'SEB cares' mobile application is further enhanced to improve customer service and elevate its customers' digital experience with the addition of the 'Online Application' feature.

The newly released feature allows customers to initiate the Change of Name, Meter Testing and Internal Wiring Testing processes, without having to visit any of Sarawak Energy's customer service counters.

By downloading and applying for the necessary processes using 'SEB cares', customers can now easily transfer an electricity account to those who have recently acquired or rented a property, and request for a meter or internal wiring test to address suspected faults.

Lau Kim Swee, Chief Executive Officer for Syarikat SESCO Berhad (Sarawak Energy's operations arm), emphasised the importance of embracing technology in today's ever-evolving world in meeting customer needs.

"In the pursuit of being a sustainable digital utility, Sarawak Energy aims to phase out legacy methods and integrate modern and innovative technology into our operations. An example of such an upgrade is the introduction of smart meters and meter data management system or MDMS, which enables us to add more online features to SEB cares. Once this is ready, the system will make it easier for our customers to manage and predict their electricity consumption. They can also view their energy usage trends, receive accurate bills and connect with us anytime. Our strong dedication to customer service excellence forms the foundation of our smart meter and digitalisation initiatives," said Lau.

The mobile app enhancement is another milestone in Sarawak Energy's ongoing digital transformation journey, with further online services slated for introduction to enrich customer experience.
