Athens County: Construction update

The following projects are anticipated to affect highways in Athens County. Outlined work is weather permitting. Click on each route to see its location at OHGO.com.


VILLAGE OF CHAUNCEY SANITARY SEWER PROJECT
A sanitary sewer project begins on June 3 in the Village of Chauncey. SR 13 will be closed from SR 682 to W Bailey Road. The detour is SR 682 to U.S. 33 west to SR 78 to SR 685 to SR 13.
Estimated Completion: July 3

U.S. 50/WASHINGTON ROAD SIGNAL REPLACEMENT/TURN LANE INSTALLATION
A signal replacement and turn lane installation project is taking place at U.S. 50/Washington Road.
Estimated Completion: November 1



U.S. 50/EAST STATE STREET RESURFACING
A resurfacing project is taking place on U.S. 50 between Della Drive and River Road. Lane closures are place in both directions. Additionally, there will be periodic closures of the ramps from East State Street to U.S. 50, and from U.S. 50 to East State Street. Resurfacing begins in June on East State Street. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.
Estimated Completion: August 15

U.S. 33 BRIDGE DECK REPAIR
A bridge deck repair project is taking place on U.S. 33 west, just past Exit 197A (U.S. 50/SR 32 East). One lane is closed.
Estimated Completion: May 29

SR 690 RESURFACING
A resurfacing project is taking place on SR 690, between U.S. 50 and SR 550. Traffic is being maintained by flaggers.
Estimated Completion: July 31

HOCKHOCKING ADENA BIKEWAY RESURFACING
Rolling closures will be in place on the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway from May 21-June 14 for a resurfacing project. There will be signs in place, informing path users of where exactly it is closed.

SOUTH GREEN DRIVE PEDESTRIAN SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS
A pedestrian safety improvement project is taking place on South Green Drive. Work includes installation of Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB), bulb outs, and curb ramps. A 10 foot width restriction is in place.
