AGH University Professor a finalist of IET Achievement Medal 2023

Professor Marek Ogiela from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science, and Biomedical Engineering is the only Pole to be nominated for the IET Achievement Medal 2023 awarded by the Institution of Engineering and Technology for exceptional contribution to the development of science, engineering, and/or technology.

The jury selecting the finalists of the award appreciated the achievements of Prof. Marek Ogiela in Image Processing, Cognitive Cryptography, as well as Cognitive Information Systems dedicated to analysing visual patterns and supporting medical diagnosis.

The Institution of Engineering and Technology is one of the oldest scientific organisations in the world and its very beginnings reach as far back as 1871. Currently, the IET brings together several thousand members from over 140 countries. This year also marked the 100^th anniversary of the establishment of the honorary awards and medals granted by the IET in various categories to scientists from all over the world.

The awards ceremony took place in London, on October 20, 2023.
