Police Station Space Needs Study

The Village has been evaluating the construction of a new Police Station since the early 2000's and the project was added to the Villages capital program in 2017. The project is intended to construct a modern law enforcement facility that addresses current and future policing needs. In Spring of 2023, the Village hired FGM Architects (FGMA) to conduct a needs assessment and land use study as a first step in the process.

At the February 27 Village Board meeting, FGMA will present their findings, which will include the identification of deficiencies in the existing police station, recommended space needs, and the projected budget. This introductory meeting is the kick-off to the review process for a new police station; this meeting is meant to identify project goals, the review process, and specific policy items for consideration by the Village's Public Safety Committee. The Committee is expected to present recommendations to the full Village Board in late 2024 in order to target construction starting in Spring 2026.
