Nahomi Aoto is highly visible and well respected in the semiconductor industry - as the only woman technical leader from Japan heading a large DRAM technology development team. How visible? Last year, she was nominated for one of the industry's most prestigious honors, the Global Semiconductor Alliance's Rising Women of Influence award. She's also a champion for women in both her personal and professional lives.
Aoto-san's career has taken her from pure research into silicon surface reactions to semiconductor process development. She has led large multiple-continent technology development teams and now serves as a university ambassador where she encourages up-and-coming talent to choose a career in semiconductors.
I wanted to ask her about her remarkable, ongoing journey and any advice she might have for those who want to follow her path. I found our conversation inspiring, and I hope you will too.
