March 16, 2023: Update about SAM Registration Delays
The General Services Administration (GSA)/System for Award Management (SAM) is experiencing delays processing certain private entity registration information for new registrants, updates to existing entity registrations, and annual renewals.
Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) applicants are to initiate their SAM registrations as soon as possible. If you are experiencing delays that are unresolved after contacting the Federal Service Helpdesk, please contact the Grants Management contact indicated in the NOFO and provide the four items listed below.
CDC recipients are responsible for ensuring their SAMs registrations are up-to-date. CDC recommends that organizations start the renewal process at least 60 days prior to expiration. CDC recipients experiencing significant delays should send the four items listed below to their Grants Management Specialist.
Overview of SAM Registration
All applicants must have an active System for Award Management (SAM) registration at the time of the application. Applicants and recipients submit common certification and representation requirements through SAM and do not submit forms directly to CDC. A Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) is issued through SAM registration. Recipients must keep their SAM registration up-to-date and renew their registration at least once per year. If your registration expires, you cannot submit a grant application until it is renewed. Go to SAM.gov for more information including instructions on registration and renewal.
