Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Hosts Human Trafficking Awareness Training
All City Of Las Vegas Firefighters Are Trained To Recognize The Signs Of Human Trafficking
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Department officials will be available for interviews following the city's human trafficking awareness training on Thursday, Jan. 26, beginning at 10 a.m. The training will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Training Center, 633 N. Mojave Road. Media interested in covering the training session should email [email protected] to RSVP.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Fire Engineer Matt Driscoll developed and implemented this training in 2018. Today all city of Las Vegas firefighters and paramedics are trained to recognize the signs of human trafficking. First responders often encounter individuals who are being trafficked, and this training allows them to recognize the signs and to get these people help.
Media is invited to attend the approximately 60-minute training, and Driscoll will be available for interviews at the conclusion of the session.
