City of Pontiac Named A 2023 Tree City USA
The City of Pontiac is excited to share that recently the National Arbor Day Foundationrecognized the City of Pontiac as a 2023 Tree City USA! Pontiac also received a Tree City USA Growth Award for demonstrating environmental improvement and an outstanding level of tree care.
This recognition was achieved by meeting four essential requirements of the program. These include maintaining a tree board or department, having a tree care ordinance, dedicating an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita, and hosting an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.
As we move forward, the City of Pontiac is committed to continuing our environmental initiatives and caring for our community.
