Men's Basketball Wins NEAC Opener Against Keuka

KEUKA, NY- The Penn State Abington men's basketball team picked up their first conference win this afternoon, on the road, by defeating Keuka College 89-81. The Nittany Lions improve to 4-1 overall and open up conference play with a perfect 1-0 start.
Senior veteran (Warminster, PA) paved the way for Abington with a season high of 20 points. Sophomore was right behind draining 17 points and led Abington with the deep three ball shooting sinking 3 of 5 from behind the arc. (Germantown, PA) finished the day with 15 points and contributed 6 rebounds for Abington. Junior transfer (Philadelphia, PA) earned his first double-double in a Nittany Lion uniform with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

The Nittany Lions came out the gate hot in the first half by dominating in the paint. got things going by driving to the hole twice for easy layups. Keuka went point for point with Abington in the first five minutes, before drained the first three of the day. Teammates Alex Salata and joined the three-point train with back to back three's to add to Abington's 17-11 lead. Heading into halftime Abington led Keuka 45-40, with 30 of those points coming from inside the paint.
Abington executed stellar defense in the second half, by keeping Keuka off the board for three whole minutes. This allowed the Nittany Lions to go up 64-56 on the Wolves with ten minutes to play. Abington was able to collect ten more points to their total off late fouling from Keuka with two minutes remaining in the game. The Nittany Lions walked away with their first conference win of the season by slaying the Wolves 89-81 in a total team effort.
Up next Abington will travel to Clarks Summit University this Tuesday for an 8:00pm tip off.
