SCU arrests man, seizes drug, guns and more than $270,000 cash

Yesterday, a Eugene Police Street Crimes Unit arrested a man involved drug dealing and seized drugs, guns, and more than $270,000 in cash.

On March 5, Eugene Police Street Crimes Unit, SWAT, Drone, and Investigations teams executed a search warrant at 850 N. Street, Springfield, Oregon. The subject of the search warrant, 48-year-old Joshua James Herrington, was stopped away from the location and detained during the investigation. EPD SCU developed information Herrington was a multiple-pound methamphetamine dealer in early February 2024. A comprehensive investigation ensued and culminated with the successful application of a search warrant for the location, which was comprised of a residence and large shop.

Upon execution of the warrant service, SWAT personnel conducted a thorough and thoughtful search of the property to render it safe for investigators. This process took approximately one hour. Once the property was turned over to investigators, a total of 11 personnel conducted an extensive and thorough search taking approximately four hours and resulting in the seizure of 8.75 pounds of suspected methamphetamines, two ounces of cocaine, 6.5 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms, seven handguns (two of which were stolen), three rifles, (two of which were stolen) and a little more than $272,000.

Herrington was charged with the following:

UPCS, UDCS, UMCS Methamphetamine (Commercial Drug Offense)

UPCS, UDCS, UMCS Cocaine (Commercial Drug Offense)
