AROUND £15,000 of investment has been ploughed into fantastic community projects in Carlisle's Petteril area.
The Petteril Community Panel met recently to back several projects, ranging from an outdoor classroom to a counselling service for people who have been bullied.
The panel - part of Cumberland Council - invests funding and support in grass roots community projects. The projects all meet one or more of the panel's priorities, agreed through consultation with the community. They are:

These priorities run alongside Cumberland Council's central aim of improving the health and wellbeing of residents.
Cllr Lisa Brown, Cumberland Council Deputy Leader and Vice-chair of the Petteril panel, said: "These fantastic schemes focus on some of the more vulnerable of our residents, and look to make life easier and fairer for them - yet more examples of Community Panels' ability to support schemes that make a big difference to the community.
"The responsiveness of the panels means they are able to join together if a project serves more than one panel area. So for example, several panels are investing in the projects above - together their funding can be a transformational amount."
