Ventura Police Department hosts Coffee with a Cop fundraiser

supporting Autism Society Ventura County

Ventura, Calif.- The Ventura Police Department is partnering with the Autism Society Ventura County to raise awareness, acceptance, and funds for individuals and families affected by autism. Residents are invited to join Ventura PD for Coffee with a Cop on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. at Moofish Cafe at 450 E. Harbor Blvd at the Crowne Plaza.

This April, Ventura police officers are uniting to support National Autism Acceptance Month by selling limited-edition t-shirts and stickers. Custom items are available for purchase in April while supplies last. All proceeds will support the Autism Society Ventura County and its programs.

"I'm deeply committed to this cause as a parent of a child with autism," shared Officer Aric Almaguer. "In 2023, we raised over $1,800 in April. I hope we can surpass that number this year and do even more to strengthen relationships, increase acceptance, and assist local families navigating unique challenges."

Coffee with a Cop facilitates interaction between residents, students, and children with local police officers. Attendees can ask questions, share feedback, and enjoy a relaxed, one-on-one conversation.

"We are deeply grateful for the partnership with the Ventura Police Department in our mission to support individuals with autism and their families," said Ashley Pope, President of Autism Society Ventura County. "Together, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone."

The purchase of all Autism Awareness Month t-shirts was provided by the Ventura Police Community Foundation. Learn more about the Ventura Police Community Foundation at
