Haryana, Chandigarh, Chattisgarh and UP have issued notifications for installation of Rooftop Solar for buildings above certain plot area/connected load - Union Power & NRE Minister Shri R. K. Singh

The Ministry of New and Renewable energy is implementing the Rooftop Solar Programme Phase-II Under this programme Central Financial Assistance (CFA) up to 40% of the benchmark cost is provided for installation of Rooftop Solar (RTS) projects up to 3 kW capacity and 20% for capacity beyond 3 kW and up to 10 kW for individual households in the residential sector. No Scheme is operational for providing financial support for installation of wind mills by individual domestic users.

The Model Building bye-laws have provision of installation of RTS for all buildings of areas above a prescribed limit. States have been requested to adopt the same and four states/UT (Haryana, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh) have issued notification for installation of RTS project for buildings above certain plot area/connected load.

The state/UT-wise detail of generation from Renewable Energy Sources (excluding Large Hydro) for the Year 2022-23 (up to January 2023) is placed at Annexure.
