Lighting is an essential aspect of any theatre and thanks to a newly received grant, Glen Street Theatre will undergo some essential works to improve the much-loved cultural asset.

The new state-of-the-art lighting system will include energy-efficient LED fixtures, advanced control consoles, and innovative lighting designs that will elevate the visual impact of productions.

These upgrades are expected to reduce electricity and operational costs while providing versatile lighting options for a wide range of events and bringing the theatre in line with industry standard.

Council will match the $71,812 funding provided by the NSW Government resulting in almost $144,000 to install 42 LED theatrical lights, reducing the current need by over half and resulting in over $25,000 in cost savings annually.

As the home of entertainment on the Northern Beaches, Glen Street Theatre delivered 380 events to over 74,000 attendees in the last 12 months across a range of live performance genres ensuring something for all ages and tastes.

The grant was made possible thanks to the NSW Government's Community Building Partnership Program which aims to create more vibrant and inclusive communities by supporting community infrastructure projects that encourage community participation, inclusion and cohesion.
