Avolta brings iconic Dutch snack brand FEBO to Schiphol Airport

Today Avolta celebrated the opening of much-loved Dutch snack brand FEBO in Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. FEBO has been serving its popular snacks and fries in the Netherlands for 83 years, but today marks the first time the brand has opened a store at an airport in the Netherlands.

The new store is located landside at the heart of Schiphol Plaza, meaning visitors to Schiphol who are not flying will also be able to enjoy FEBO's famous croquettes and burgers. Guests are invited to shop at a traditional counter, or window shop and take their snacks from the iconic 'snackwall' that FEBO has become easily recognized for. This FEBO has an updated look and feel.

Walter Seib, CEO Northern, Central and Eastern Europe, Avolta said: "We are proud to collaborate with FEBO, such an iconic brand in the Netherlands, to bring their much-loved snacks to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, our longstanding partner. Our aim at Avolta is to make travelers happier, and I have no doubt that FEBO will be enjoyed by local travelers and visitors alike."

Dennis de Borst, Director of FEBO, said: "We are very happy to open a new location at Schiphol. We have been in discussions for a long time and we have high expectations of this location. I think that both visitors and employees of Schiphol will find this FEBO fantastic."

Hans de Groot, Head of Retail, F&B and Commercial Services, Royal Schiphol Group: "Schiphol's objective is to continuously upgrade our F&B offering by improving its quality, diversity and recognizability. The introduction of a strong, local, brand like FEBO contributes to this. We are convinced both travelers and people working at Schiphol will be pleased with this addition to the F&B offering at Schiphol Plaza."

About FEBO

The family business FEBO is a well-known fast food concept with 30 branches in Amsterdam and a total of 75 branches in the Netherlands. Seven of these locations are drive-through. The first branch was opened by Johan de Borst in 1941, as a bread and pastry shop on the corner of Karperweg/ Amstelveenseweg in Amsterdam, under the name 'Maison Febo'. FEBO produces fresh pastries daily in its production kitchen in Amsterdam-Noord, made according to original recipes and using only the best Dutch beef, veal and chicken meat, the best herbs, real butter and excellent quality flour. On the same day, FEBO delivers its snacks to branches around the country, using its own refrigerated transport. It is possible to guarantee the best quality because the fresh snacks are not frozen.
