Santa Fe Celebrating 152 Years of Arbor Day

The City of Santa Fe will hold an Arbor Day Celebration marking the 152nd Anniversary of Arbor Day on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 10 am to 12 pm at the Santa Fe Railyard Park on Cerrillos Road.

Mayor Alan Webber will read from his proclamationnaming April 26 Arbor Day in Santa Fe.

Attendees can take home a drought-resistant tree, first come first served.

Members of the City of Santa Fe Parks and Open Space Division, Environmental Services Division, Water Conservation Office, and Keep Santa Fe Beautiful will be in attendance for information and education.

Santa Fe was honored by the Arbor Day Foundation as a 2023 Tree City USA.

The TreeSmart Santa Fe Canopy Program added over 1,300 trees to public spaces, as well as distributed 250 trees to families.

The City has also enhanced its park inventory by cataloging over 5,400 trees throughout Santa Fe.
