On April 15, 2024, at approximately 9:00 a.m., New York State Troopers responded to Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh for a report of threats towards a member of their staff. Out of an abundance of caution, CVPH went into a lockdown.

Troopers patrolled to a residence on Ashley Road, in the town of Beekmantown, where the individual was taken into custody and transported to CVPH for a mental health evaluation.

The State Police were assisted by the Clinton County Sheriff's Department, Plattsburgh Police Department, SUNY Plattsburgh Police Department and the Tri-County SRT.
