REP LIEU STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF CONGRESSMAN DONALD PAYNE JR

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement on the passing of Congressman Donald Payne Jr.

"I am devastated by the news of our colleague Donald Payne Jr.'s passing and send my deepest condolences to his wife Beatrice and their children, Donald III, Jack and Yvonne. Donald worked tirelessly on behalf of his constituents in New Jersey, having been a longtime champion of affordable healthcare and emergency preparedness. He was a trailblazer in New Jersey politics and a passionate public servant. I had the great fortune of working with Donald on the Men's Health Caucus, which he co-chaired. He used his platform to spotlight critical issues in men's healthcare like expanding screenings for prostate, testicular, and colon cancers, as well as promoting healthy lifestyles and physical fitness. We will miss him deeply, and join his family and friends in mourning this profound loss."
