Talbot County: Bridge Construction to Cause Detour on SR 190 over Norfolk Southern RR. Closure begins on May 13, 2024

Talbot County: Bridge Replacement to Cause Detour on SR 190 over NS Railroad 2.5 miles west of Manchester, GA.

What: The Georgia DOT advises Talbot County motorists of a road closure at SR 190 over Norfolk Southern RR 2.5 miles west of Manchester for a bridge replacement. Detour signage was installed before the closure. The project is slated to be completed in the Fall of 2024.

The project is to replace the bridge on SR 190 2.5 miles west of Manchester. The project proposes to replace the bridge on SR 190 at NS #718623W in Talbot County (located 2.5 MI W OF MANCHESTER). The proposed bridge will be built in the same location as the existing bridge. The replacement bridge will be a single-span bridge, approximately 120 ft long by 39.25 ft wide over the abandoned railbed, and will be constructed on the existing alignment.


When: May 13, 2024, until late Fall 2024

Where: Closure at SR 190 over Norfolk Southern RR #718623

Advisory: Motorists are advised to anticipate the detour or seek alternate routes. They should expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speeds while traveling near work zones.
