MALAYSIA STRONGLY CONDEMNS THE KILLING BY ISRAELI OCCUPATION FORCES OF PALESTINIANS IN JENIN AND ITS REFUGEE CAMP

Malaysia condemns in the strongest terms the killing by the Israeli occupation forces of at least 10 Palestinians at Palestine's West Bank City of Jenin and its refugee camp on 26 January 2023. This heinous crime was the latest act of aggression in Israel's continuous incursion in that part of the Palestinian territory, which had resulted in deaths and injuries to the Palestinians.

Responsible members of the international community and the United Nations Security Council must immediately respond to this latest Israeli aggression. It is a blatant violation of international laws, including human rights and humanitarian law.

The Israeli regime and the perpetrators of this heinous crime must be held accountable. The victims and their families deserve justice.

It is a known fact that Israel's intransigence and aggression against the Palestinians continue to be a real obstacle to finding a comprehensive, just, lasting, and peaceful resolution to the Palestine-Israel conflict.

Malaysia stands firm by its long-held position that the Palestinians deserve their own independent state, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
