U.S. Route 40 to narrow for maintenance next week at the Salt Creek Bri…

Around-the-clock lane closure with temporary signals

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - U.S. Route 40 in Howard County at the Salt Creek Bridge, west of Rocheport, will be narrowed to one lane next week. Temporary signals will be in place to guide traffic through the single-lane work zone.

Contractors working with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) plan to repair a bridge joint on the east end of the Salt Creek Bridge. In order to allow the concrete to cure, the lane closure will remain in place around-the-clock with temporary signals beginning Monday, April 22, at 7 a.m. The work is expected to continue through May 6. Motorists may experience delays.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones.
