Convicted Sex Offender Daniel Revette Wanted for Attack on Woman Outside Parking Garage

Special Victims detectives late this afternoon swore out arrest warrants against convicted sex offender Daniel Revette, 39, for the May 11th sexual assault of a woman outside Vanderbilt University Medical Center's East parking garage at 1215 21st Avenue South.

Collaboration between detectives and scientists at the MNPD crime laboratory led to the identification of Revette as the suspect. The warrants issued this afternoon are for aggravated kidnapping, aggravated sexual battery, and attempted rape. Anyone seeing Revette or knowing his whereabouts is asked to contact Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Revette is believed to be homeless.

The victim in this case, a medical center employee, saw a man, subsequently identified as Revette, pacing nearby. When she attempted to walk away from the area, he grabbed her from behind and began choking her. He threatened to kill her if she made a noise. During an ensuing physical struggle, he forcibly fondled the woman who managed to free herself and escape.

Revette was convicted of attempted rape in 2007, received a six-year sentence, and is under community supervision for life by the Tennessee Department of Correction. He was convicted of aggravated assault in 2021 and received a six-year sentence. He has also been convicted multiple times of violating Tennessee's sex offender registry law. The state swore out sex offender registration violation and community supervision violation warrants against Revette on May 18th.
