Montgomery, Glover honored at Waynesburg U. Commencement

Waynesburg University honored its Commencement speakers Sunday, May 5, during its Commencement Exercises.

John Montgomery, President and CEO of Community Bank, and Rev. Dr. Edward Glover, founder of Urban Impact and Associate Preacher at Christ Church at Grove Farm in Sewickley, were both awarded Doctor of Humane Letters degrees.

The following citations were read:

John H. Montgomery, in recognition of your exemplary work ethic, character and faith, as evidenced by a successful career and dedicated servant leadership, Waynesburg University honors you.

Your impressive professional background is a testament to your ambition to serve and exceptional quality of work. As you lead Community Bank to not only provide exceptional banking services, but also to remain dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of others, your career reflects the tenants of the University's mission.

Your personal commitment to service, both locally and across the globe, is both an inspiration and a fitting example to Waynesburg University students as they prepare to embark upon their own post-college journeys. For that, we are pleased to recognize you.

As a pastor, a visionary and a motivational speaker, you have been able to uniquely impact countless individuals, allowing them to explore and grow as humble and influential Christians in their own churches, vocations and neighborhoods.

You have made an immeasurable impact through the founding of Urban Impact as you bring life to its mission of investing in the lives of at-risk children, youth, and their families in order to develop responsible followers of Christ.

Your servant leadership and genuine care of others serve as admirable examples to our students as they prepare to become the next generation of servant leaders. For that, we are pleased to recognize you.
