Summary :
Rocklin Police officers safely diffused a standoff and arrested three people with outstanding warrants for arrest. On Monday evening, an officer responded to the 3500 block of Sunset Boulevard after Rocklin PD received a report of kidnapping (207 PC), domestic violence (273.5 PC) and false imprisonment (236 PC) committed at the Sunset Apartments. The officer tried to contact a man in the home, who was wanted for the suspected crimes and had outstanding warrants. The man, Daniel Chavez, refused to answer the door and retreated into the apartment. After more than an hour of trying to call Chavez out of the home, our joint SWAT team with members from both Roseville and Rocklin Police and Crisis Incident Negotiations Team (CINT) members were called to the scene. The CINT Team began negotiations with the suspect, who would not comply with officers and exit the home. SWAT deployed two distraction devices and CS gas, forcing Chavez and two other people in the apartment to surrender.

The suspects were transported to Placer County Jail. Chavez was arrested on multiple charges including kidnapping, domestic violence, and resisting arrest. He also has outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants. Thomas Nicholson and Crystal Powell were arrested for resisting arrest and outstanding warrants.

We want to thank our law enforcement partners at the Roseville Police Department for assisting in bringing this incident to a peaceful end.
