UPDATED SCHEDULE: Ramp closures along U.S. Route 63 in Columbia

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The contractor has made changes to the planned schedule of work today and for the remainder of the week for the ramps along U.S. Route 63 in the Columbia/Prathersville area as part of a resurfacing project. Contractors from Capital Paving and Construction LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, are working at the Oakland Gravel Road and Prathersville Road overpasses today, then will move to the shoulder work on Thursday and Friday.

Below is the revised schedule of work for today and the remainder of the week. As always, all scheduled work is subject to change.

Planned work today, Wednesday, Sept. 18:

7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. - in the following order:

  1. West end of Oakland Gravel Road and southbound off-ramp from U.S. Route 63 CLOSED. The southbound on-ramp to U.S. Route 63 from Oakland Gravel Road will remain open.
  2. East end of Oakland Gravel Road and northbound off-ramp from U.S. Route 63 will CLOSE. The northbound on-ramp to U.S. Route 63 will remain open.

3 to 9 p.m. - in the following order:

  1. East end of Prathersville Road and northbound off-ramp from U.S. Route 63 will CLOSE. The northbound on-ramp to U.S. Route 63 will remain open.
  2. West end of Prathersville Road and the southbound off-ramp from U.S. Route 63 will CLOSE. The southbound on-ramp to U.S. Route 63 will remain open.

Planned work for Thursday, Sept. 19, 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.:

  • The southbound driving lane of U.S. Route 63 will close for the paving of the outside shoulder.

Planned work for Friday, Sept. 20, 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.:

  • The northbound driving lane of U.S. Route 63 will close for the paving of the outside shoulder.

Some intermittent, short-term ramp closures may be necessary between Route B and Route 763 throughout the day Thursday and Friday. Motorists are advised to use caution, slow down and eliminate all distractions. Pay attention to signs, changing traffic patterns, and workers and equipment close to the travelway.
