NOPD Investigating Hit-and-Run Fatality in Seventh District

The NOPD is investigating a Hit & Run accident that occurred this evening ( April 20, 2024) that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.

At about 8:39 p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of an unresponsive female in roadway in the 8500 block of the I-10 Service Road.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult female pedestrian in the eastbound lane. EMS arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Through investigation, it was determined that the victim was walking on the side of the road when they were struck by an unknown vehicle.

The Orleans Parish Coroner will officially identify the victim and determine cause of death in this incident upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
