The Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria is proud to host a special event to celebrate the Giornata Nazionale del Made in Italy, Made in Italy Day 2024, is proud to host a special event to celebrate the event dedicated to the promotion of Italian creativity and excellence in conjunction with the anniversary of the birth of Leonardo da Vinci, which occurred on 15 April 1452.

The objective of this day is to recognize Made in Italy's social role and contribution to the economic and cultural development of the country, also in relation to its identity heritage and to make public opinion responsible for promoting the protection of the value and peculiar qualities of Italian works and products.

The Università Mediterranea has declined the intentions of the event towards a triple purpose:

Support emerging realities
Protect the excellence of Calabrian Made in Italy
Consolidate the relationship between the world of research and the local production fabric, strengthening technological transfer and corporate innovation in the agri-food and fashion sectors.

It will also be an opportunity to raise awareness among young people to try their hand at studying and working activities related to Made in Italy to create new resources linked to the excellence of our manufacturing.

Plan

The event on 16 April in the Aula Magna L. Quaroni (Architecture Complex) will involve the Università Mediterranea on the topics of academic research, the Chamber of Commerce of Reggio Calabria for the support of corporate innovation in the agri-food and clothing and fashion and finally some selected companies and associations that will tell their story about the relevance of the tradition-innovation combination in the Calabrian territory.

The Rector Giuseppe Zimbalatti will open with greetings. Following, for the Casa del Made in Italy, the Engineer. Giuseppe Antonio Sofia. The Chamber of Commerce will be represented by the general secretary Dr. Natina Crea.

Speakers

Prof. Mariateresa Russo will coordinate the teachers' interventions Amalia Rosa Maria Piscopo (Agraria Departiment) and Riccardo Maria Pulselli ( PAU Department). Concludes Dr. Giuseppe Quattrone for the Experimental Station of Essences.

The Round Table

The seminar with round table, moderated by prof. Massimo Lauria, will focus on Made in Italy in Calabria, with reference to typical excellent agri-food products and Calabrian creativity in the combination of ancient art, new technologies and sustainability.

Invited some companies from the most representative sectors of our territory: la Gelateria Cesare, Lacinio Srl, Naturemed, il Lanificio Leo, la Fabbrica tessile Bossio, the jewelery designers Milena e Sonia Trapasso.
