09-23-2023 National Public Lands Day, Chain O'Lakes State Park
9:00 am. Autumn Equinox Hike. Celebrate the Autumn Equinox with us! Meet the Naturalist outside the Nature Center for a moderate hike on Trail 12. We will keep a decent pace with just a few stops to enjoy some moderate exercise out in nature. (allow for 2 hours)11:00 am. - 12:30 pm. Baits and Bites.Come to boat rental for some free bait to celebrate Free Fishing Weekend. Bring your own equipment and we may have some to share as well! Learn some tips and tricks and come and go as you please. Great fun for beginners! Note: free bait to be given to participants to use during this program at boat rental only, as supplies last.
1:00 pm. Invasive Species Round-Up. Come to the boat rental parking area to help us celebrate National Public Lands Day by volunteering in the park. No experience required, activities will include cutting down and clearing invasives. Local volunteers and experts will be helping us to promote restoration and resilience in our park system. Opportunities for all ages, groups, and families to participate. Come make a noticeable difference here in the park.
