U.S. Senator Bob Menendez in Exclusive Interview on Chat Box with David Cruz This Week

Interview will premiere online Thursday at 6 p.m. on the NJ Spotlight News YouTube Channel; Broadcast Saturday at 6:30 p.m.; Sunday 10:30 a.m. on NJ PBS

October 25, 2023 - NEWARK, NJ - NJ PBS, New Jersey's public media network, announced that its weekly public affairs program, Chat Box with David Cruz, will host an exclusive interview with U.S. Senator Bob Menendez this week, to first post this Thursday, October 26 at 6 p.m. on the Chat Box playlist of the network's YouTube channel and that of its newsroom, NJ Spotlight News. The interview will then broadcast during the regularly scheduled Chat Box timeslots, Saturday, 10/28 at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday 10/29 at 10:30 a.m. on NJ PBS (check local listings).

It is the embattled senator's first interview since the news of his recent indictment on corruption charges.

Chat Box moderator and NJ Spotlight News Senior Political Correspondent David Cruz and Sen. Menendez are slated to discuss the recent corruption allegations against the senator and the impact they are having on his political career, his party's standing among voters, whether he will seek reelection, what role he still plays in foreign relations including the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, aid to Ukraine and more.

Portions of the interview will air on the NJ Spotlight News with Briana Vannozzi newscast Thursday and Friday at 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. on NJ PBS and NJSpotlightNews.org.
