Green, Thomas-Rivera earn All-WAC awards for Tarleton Baseball

The Western Athletic Conference announced the 2022 baseball awards on Tuesday, and two Texans took home some hardware.
and Kemuel-Thomas Rivera both landed on the All-WAC Second Team, with Green also finding himself on the All-Defensive Team as an outfielder.
The two Texans were the first in the team's NCAA Division I era to earn First or Second Team awards for baseball. There were seven Texans who received honorable mention awards last season.
The awards are voted on by the league's 13 head coaches.
Green, a senior, was named to the All-WAC Second team as an at-large selection. He started 52 of 53 games that Tarleton played this season and led the team in hits (65), home runs (17), RBI (54) and slugging percentage (.617). The 17 home runs were tied for second most in the WAC. They are also tied with Blake Adams for second most in a single season in Tarleton history (modern era). Green's 21 career home runs rank 10th best in Tarleton history (modern era).
On the season, Green had a hit in 25 of 30 conference games played to go with 17 multi-hit games and five multi-home run games. He was also one of 10 players on the All-Defensive Team. He started 51 of 52 games played in right field and totaled 98 putouts. His arm was lethal in the outfield and he showed it with six fielding assists.
Thomas-Rivera, another senior, was placed on the All-WAC Second Team as a second baseman. The Carolina, Puerto Rico, native turned his game up to another level in WAC play. He ranked sixth with a .398 average in conference play and sixth with a .473 on-base percentage. He led the team with a .357 batting average and .442 on-base percentage overall. Thomas-Rivera totaled 60 hits, nine home runs and 37 RBI.
His versatility was on display all season as he played second base, shortstop, third base and left field. The graduate senior's academic prowess earned him more recognition as he was named to CoSIDA's All-District Academic team with a 4.00 GPA.
