MADUK: Display of measurement data improved

The purpose of the MADUK monitoring network for automatic monitoring of radioactivity is to protect personnel, the population and the environment. Through its use, ENSI is able to monitor compliance with the radiological protection regulations and discharge limits in the surroundings of the nuclear power plants and the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI).

57 probes deliver around-the-clock data. ENSI's MADUK control centre processes and archives the data and, if necessary, provides an immediate alert to the ENSI Emergency Response Organisation and the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC). The measuring probes of the MADUK system complete and supplement the overall Swiss radioactivity monitoring network NADAM (Automatic Dose Alarm and Monitoring Network), which has a further 76 measuring stations spread throughout Switzerland. NADAM is operated by the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC).
